Бердянський державний педагогічний університет висловлює щиру вдячність колишньому волонтеру Корпусу Миру, викладачу IELTS та волонтеру, яка викладала англійську мову нашим студентам на Speaking Club і допомагала українцям під час війни, за організацію та проведення великого мітингу в Сан-Дієго, США, 16 березня на підтримку українців.
Керрі Knight та її друзі й знайомі американці, які теж підтримують Україну, об’єдналися для проведення цієї важливої події. Мітинг зібрав значну кількість людей, які висловили солідарність з українським народом та засудили російську агресію. Учасники тримали українські прапори, плакати із закликами до миру та справедливості, а також фотографії, що демонструють наслідки війни.
Вона зробила неоціненний внесок у нашу боротьбу за ідентичність і свободу, розповідаючи простим американцям історію релокації нашого університету в Запоріжжя, реальні історії викладачів та студентів, які зазнали утисків під час окупації, та важкі історії виїзду на підконтрольні Україні території. Керрі організувала збір коштів на допомогу переміщеним студентам та викладачам і забезпечила широке висвітлення події у місцевих ЗМІ.
Вона чесно розповіла своїм співгромадянам про наші переживання щодо наміру російської сторони захопити Запоріжжя і про те, що численні студенти та викладачі вишу, який знаходиться зараз у цьому місті, усією душею проти цього. Завдяки її зусиллям, все більше американців дізнаються правду про ситуацію в Україні та важливість міжнародної підтримки.

Unbreakable Solidarity: American Support for Berdyansk State Pedagogical University in the Fight for Freedom
Berdiansk State Pedagogical University expresses sincere gratitude to the Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, IELTS teacher and volunteer who taught English to our students at the Speaking Club and helped Ukrainians during the war, for organizing and conducting a large rally in San Diego, USA, on March 16 in support of Ukrainians.
Kerry Knight and her friends and acquaintances who also support Ukraine united to hold this important event. The rally gathered a significant number of people who expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people and condemned Russian aggression. Participants held Ukrainian flags, posters with calls for peace and justice, as well as photographs showing the consequences of the war.
She has made an invaluable contribution to our struggle for identity and freedom by telling ordinary Americans about the relocation of our university to Zaporizhzhia, the real stories of teachers and students who suffered oppression during the occupation, and the harrowing stories of leaving for territories controlled by Ukraine. Kerry organized a fundraiser to help displaced students and teachers and ensured broad coverage of the event in local media.
She honestly told her fellow citizens about our concerns regarding Russia’s intention to capture Zaporizhzhia and about the fact that numerous university students and teachers, which is now located in this city, are wholeheartedly against this. Thanks to her efforts, more and more Americans are learning the truth about the situation in Ukraine and the importance of international support.
