Кафедра іноземних мов і методики викладання інформує про можливість долучитися до безкоштовного онлайн-клубу англійської мови «Explore Language & Sustainability», який проводиться на платформі Zoom для студентів Бердянського державного педагогічного університету.
Клуб об’єднує молодь із різних країн для практики розмовної англійської мови у форматі невимушеного спілкування з носіями та учасниками зі США. Головна мета проєкту – не лише вдосконалення навичок аудіювання й говоріння, а й розвиток міжкультурної компетентності, налагодження дружніх контактів та формування спільноти однодумців, зацікавлених у глобальних проблемах сучасності.
Особливістю клубу є те, що спілкування відбувається навколо тем, дотичних до сталого розвитку, – екології, відповідального споживання, соціальної рівності та глобальних викликів сучасності. Обговорення таких тем англійською мовою дає учасникам змогу опанувати актуальну лексику й водночас глибше усвідомити власну роль у розв’язанні цих питань.
Сьогодні англійська мова потрібна практично кожному – вона відкриває доступ до якісних матеріалів, професійного спілкування та міжнародних можливостей. Поряд із класичною освітою дедалі важливішим стає розвиток hard і soft skills – практичних, застосовних навичок, які можна здобути й поза межами формальної освіти, а також робота в команді, готовність до навчання, гнучкість, адаптивність тощо. Такі клуби якраз і дають змогу вийти за рамки аудиторних занять, отримати живий досвід спілкування та розширити власні горизонти.
Language Club „Explore Language & Sustainability”: Communication for the Sake of Sustainable Development
The Department of Foreign Languages and Teaching Methods is pleased to inform students about the opportunity to join the free online English language club “Explore Language & Sustainability,” held via Zoom for students of Berdiansk State Pedagogical University.
The club brings together young people from different countries to practice conversational English in a relaxed format of communication with native speakers and participants from the USA. The project’s main goal is not only to improve listening and speaking skills, but also to develop intercultural competence, build friendly connections, and form a community of like-minded people interested in the global challenges of our time.
A distinctive feature of the club is that discussions revolve around topics related to sustainable development – ecology, responsible consumption, social equality, and the global challenges of today. Discussing these topics in English allows participants to master relevant vocabulary while also gaining a deeper understanding of their own role in addressing these issues.
Today, English is needed by almost everyone – it opens access to quality materials, professional communication, and international opportunities. Alongside a traditional education, developing hard and soft skills is becoming increasingly important – practical, applicable skills that can be gained beyond formal education, as well as teamwork, willingness to learn, flexibility, adaptability, and more. Clubs like this one make it possible to step outside the classroom, gain real-life communication experience, and broaden one’s own horizons.
