Diagnosis – acute form of teaching addiction and love for students

There are days when even ordinary online learning suddenly takes on a completely different atmosphere. The screens that bring teachers and students together every day for classes become a space for laughter, jokes, and festive surprises. For a while, teachers step out of their usual roles as mentors and turn into participants in a game, ready to take on challenges, be surprised, laugh, and simply enjoy the celebration.
This year’s Teachers’ Day at FDSSO was exactly such an occasion. Once again, the Student Council prepared an unusual celebration for the teaching staff, organizing a neuropsychological assessment. After all, being a teacher is exhausting work that requires patience — and definitely strong nerves.
For a while, the teachers were invited to take on the role of “patients” — and they handled the task brilliantly. Some amazed everyone with the speed of their reactions, others with their unconventional thinking, while some once again proved that pedagogical endurance can survive even the most unexpected student experiments.
But what mattered most was not even how the tasks were performed, but the atmosphere during the “examinations”: the “patients” laughed, supported one another, and willingly played along with the rules of the game. And perhaps that was the special magic of the day — forgetting about their usual roles for a few hours.
The teachers were able to put aside their work worries, deadlines, and endless “Can I just clarify something?..”, while the students had the opportunity to see their mentors in a different light — spontaneous, ready to joke and be surprised together with them, ready to be part of the same circle: without distance, without formalities, simply together.
And finally, as befits a true medical consultation, the final “diagnosis” was made: acute form of teaching addiction and love for students. The condition is incurable, but, as this day clearly showed, remarkably pleasant.
