Academic Integrity in the Spotlight for FPSSE Students

Representatives of the Berdyansk State Pedagogical University Library, together with the Council of Young Scientists of the Faculty of Preschool, Special and Social Education, organized an event on academic integrity titled “Created by a Human or AI? On Honesty in Learning.”
The meeting brought together students from the faculty’s three specialties: A2 “Preschool Education,” A6.01 “Special Education (Speech Therapy),” and I10 “Social Work and Counselling.”
During the event, participants discussed the principles of academic integrity and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in learning and research. Particular attention was paid to completing assignments independently, citing sources correctly, verifying information, and transparently disclosing the use of AI tools. The meeting encouraged students to reflect on the authorship of their academic work and their responsibility for its content. Using digital tools requires critical thinking, adherence to assignment requirements, and an understanding of one’s own contribution to the final work.
We thank Head of the Library Svitlana Bilokon, Head of the User Services Department Iryna Filon, Leading Librarian Halyna Potapenko, for a timely and informative meeting. We appreciate their practical recommendations and support in promoting a culture of academic integrity among university students!.
