Resilience Amidst Change: A Recap of Mental Health Week at the Faculty of PPOM

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Political Science and Humanities held a series of interactive events aimed at psychological support for applicants and teachers in the conditions of modern uncertainty.
The week began with a workshop titled “A Bridge Between Two Shores: How to Maintain Mental Health in Times of Uncertainty,” led by Iryna Telelym – a practicing psychologist and a master’s student in the “Psychology of Training Work” program. Participants learned an art-based tool designed to reduce stress, overcome emotional exhaustion, and restore inner resilience.
The following day offered profound insights during a workshop led by Olga Frolova – a Candidate of Psychological Sciences and head of the NGO “South-Eastern Ukrainian Association of Practical Psychologists and Art Therapists.” The session focused on how to reclaim the capacity to dream, take action within one’s own sphere of influence, and build one’s life-step by small step-right now, rather than waiting for ideal conditions.
Yurii Dudnyk, a PhD and senior lecturer in the Department of Psychology, presented a scientific perspective on the psychology of resilience. His interactive lecture helped the audience re-evaluate their personal guiding principles and recognize values as the fundamental cornerstone of mental resilience.
The final event of the week was a master class titled “Point of Support: An Art Therapy Workshop,” led by Tetiana Kulikova – a psychologist at the Palace of Children and Youth of the Berdiansk City Council and a stakeholder in the “Psychology” educational program. The presentation of her original art-therapy technique provided a space for participants to seek answers. They explored what specifically offers them support and restores their strength in the “here and now.”
Mental Health Week served as a space for reflection, professional dialogue, and mutual support. We extend our sincere thanks to the speakers and all participants for their openness, active engagement, and collaborative efforts in exploring ways to maintain mental health!
