Попри виклики часу, наукове життя не лише не зупиняється – воно демонструє нові результати, які засвідчують інтелектуальну стійкість і розвиток української гуманітаристики. Кафедра української мови та журналістики Бердянського державного педагогічного університету має вагомий привід для гордості: світ побачили дві одноосібні монографії кандидатів філологічних наук, доцентів Наталії Рули та Анжеліки Шульженко.
Монографія Наталії Рули «Семантико-синтаксична типологія складносурядних речень у сучасній українській мові» присвячена одній із ключових проблем сучасного мовознавства – теорії складного речення. У праці здійснено комплексне дослідження складносурядних конструкцій із позицій функційно-категорійної граматики. Авторка детально описує специфіку категорії сурядності, розкриває механізми реалізації сурядного зв’язку, аналізує семантико-синтаксичні різновиди як сполучникових, так і безсполучникових структур. Особливу увагу приділено їхнім функціональним можливостям, сферам уживання, а також уточненню класифікації сурядних сполучників. Видання має вагоме теоретичне значення і водночас може стати практичним орієнтиром для науковців, викладачів, аспірантів, студентів-філологів і вчителів закладів загальної середньої освіти.
Не менш значущою є монографія Анжеліки Шульженко «Фразеологічні одиниці на позначення відчуттів людини в українській, англійській та французькій мовах: зіставний аспект». Дослідження присвячене зіставному аналізу фразеологізмів, що репрезентують сферу людських відчуттів у різних мовах і культурах. Застосування комплексної методики дозволило авторці розглянути фразеологічні одиниці в кількох вимірах: ідеографічному – через ієрархічну організацію тематичного поля «Відчуття людини»; структурно-граматичному – через виявлення найпродуктивніших моделей; семантичному – через аналіз метафоричних і метонімічних механізмів, а також системних відношень між одиницями. У результаті зіставлення визначено ізоморфні та аломорфні властивості фразеологізмів і встановлено ступінь їхньої продуктивності в кожній із досліджуваних мов. Праця стане цінною для науковців, аспірантів і магістрантів, які працюють у галузі зіставного й типологічного мовознавства.
Обидві монографії засвідчують високий рівень наукових пошуків, глибину теоретичного мислення та актуальність досліджень, що їх здійснюють викладачі кафедри. Це не лише вагомий внесок у розвиток сучасної лінгвістики, а й підтвердження того, що українська наука продовжує формувати нові смисли, розвивати традиції та інтегруватися у світовий науковий простір.
Особливої ваги ця подія набуває в умовах воєнного часу та реалій переміщеного університету. Саме в таких обставинах кожне наукове досягнення стає свідченням незламності академічної спільноти, її здатності зберігати і розвивати інтелектуальний потенціал країни. Видання монографій – це не лише результат наполегливої праці, а й знак того, що навіть у найскладніші періоди українська освіта і наука продовжують жити, працювати й творити майбутнє.

Science Without Pause: The Department of Ukrainian Language and Journalism Presents New Publications
Despite the challenges of our time, academic life does not come to a halt – it continues to produce new results that demonstrate the intellectual resilience and development of Ukrainian humanities. The Department of Ukrainian Language and Journalism at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University has a significant reason for pride: two single-author monographs by Candidates of Philological Sciences, Associate Professors Nataliia Rula and Anzhelika Shulzhenko have been published.
Nataliia Rula’s monograph “Semantic and Syntactic Typology of Compound Sentences in Modern Ukrainian” is devoted to one of the key issues of contemporary linguistics – the theory of complex sentences. The study provides a comprehensive analysis of compound sentence structures from the perspective of functional-categorical grammar. The author thoroughly examines the specific features of coordination as a grammatical category, reveals the mechanisms of coordination in compound sentences, and analyzes semantic and syntactic varieties of both conjunctional and asyndetic structures. Particular attention is paid to their functional potential, spheres of usage, and the уточнення of the classification of coordinating conjunctions. The publication holds significant theoretical value and can serve as a practical guide for researchers, educators, postgraduate students, philology students, and secondary school teachers.
Equally significant is the monograph by Anzhelika Shulzhenko, “Phraseological Units Denoting Human Sensations in Ukrainian, English, and French: A Contrastive Perspective.” The study focuses on the comparative analysis of phraseological units that represent the sphere of human sensations across different languages and cultures. Through a comprehensive methodological approach, the author examines these linguistic units from several perspectives: ideographic – through the hierarchical organization of the thematic field “Human Sensations”; structural-grammatical – by identifying the most productive models; and semantic – through the analysis of metaphorical and metonymic mechanisms, as well as systemic relations among the units. As a result of the comparison, isomorphic and allomorphic features of phraseological units are identified, and their degree of productivity in each of the analyzed languages is determined. The work will be valuable for researchers, postgraduate students, and master’s students working in the field of contrastive and typological linguistics.
Both monographs testify to the high level of scholarly inquiry, depth of theoretical thinking, and relevance of the research conducted by the department’s faculty. This is not only a significant contribution to the development of modern linguistics, but also evidence that Ukrainian scholarship continues to generate new meanings, develop traditions, and integrate into the global academic space.
This achievement is particularly significant in the context of wartime and the realities of a displaced university. Under such circumstances, every academic accomplishment becomes a testament to the resilience of the academic community and its ability to preserve and develop the intellectual potential of the country. The publication of these monographs is not only the result of dedicated work, but also a sign that even in the most challenging times, Ukrainian education and science continue to live, work, and shape the future.
